Artist Bio:
My name is Brooklynn Phillips. I am originally from Pennsylvania but have lived in Florida my entire adult life. After receiving my Associates in the Arts at Eastern Florida State College, I chose to pursue a bachelors at UCF. I was lucky enough to be raised by people who saw the value in art and let me experience a variety of music, cinema, and art history. This upbringing left me with an intense passion for all the beauty life has to offer. While obtaining my degree, I plan on pursuing internships that allow me to go beyond where I am now and eventually travel the world. My ultimate goal is to have a career that allows me to travel and gives purpose to my creativity
Artist Statement:
Throughout my life, I have felt deeply and emotionally connected to nature. Our environments play an important role in our upbringing and that is something people tend to forget in the digital age we live in. For these artworks, I have drawn inspiration both the chaos and the calm found in nature. I chose to emphasize the difference in the dark and light values for this reason as well.
