Artist Statement:

My work explores the human psyche and the sometimes tumultuous way our childhood and past experiences tend to shape our identity. Drawing from both past and present experiences, I seek to explore how memory and growth can be visualized in a two (or occasionally three) dimensional format. I often aim to portray things that can’t be conveyed through words, as it is difficult to summarize complex feelings into mere sentences. My process is often central to my work, whether I’m leaving traces of it, or creating paintings in an intentionally unique way. I often prefer to use mixed media to layer meaning and visual intrigue. My work aims to reach those who are going or have gone through similar experiences, offering a sense of comfort- or discomfort- and a sense of being less alone.
