Artist Bio:
Born and raised in El Salvador, Central America, Nemesis Deras is a visual artist in her senior year at the University of Central Florida, pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Studio Art with a focus on painting. Since moving to the United States in 2018 and beginning her college studies in 2020, she has received several awards, including the J.R. Hope Merit Award from UCF in both 2023 and 2024. Nemesis has participated in notable exhibitions such as the Orange County Riqueza Latina art exhibit (2023), the Best of 2023 Exhibition at the YAG gallery, and Eclectic Knights XVI (2024). Her work often explores the dynamics of enclosed spaces, interrupted by vibrant characters and personal objects, while incorporating cultural elements from her homeland. With aspirations to continue her studies in an MFA program later in the future, her goal is to develop a compelling body of work that engages with international audiences and showcases the narratives of her background.
