Artist Bio:
Pierce Hogue is a BFA student in Emerging Media at the University of Central Florida, specializing in Drawing, 3D Modeling, and Animation. Initially enrolled to study engineering, Pierce soon realized that his true passion lay in creative expression. This realization led him to pivot toward the arts, where he found fulfillment in transforming abstract ideas and emotions into compelling visual stories. While developing his skills, Pierce's early work focused on pencil sketches, but it was his discovery of charcoal drawing through UCF’s art program that marked a pivotal shift in his style. The medium reignited his passion for artistic exploration, pushing him to refine his technique and composition to better convey his ideas. After graduation, Pierce plans to apply his skills in the creative industry as a concept artist or early production 3D artist for video games and animated film and TV. His goal is to continue creating powerful visual experiences that inspire and resonate with audiences, bringing his vision to life in the ever-evolving world of creative media.
Artist Statement:
Throughout my work my goal is to highlight interesting elements of the past that remain today, such as architecture from the 70s I've sought out, or old photographs in antique stores I visit all too frequently. By combining these real world elements of the past with graphic design, for a brief moment these once abandoned or forgotten things gain a second life as something new, but very much tell the same story they have always told.
