Artist Bio:
Virginia Bayne is at the start of her Senior year at the University of Central Florida, with plans to graduate in the Spring of 2025 with a BFA in Studio Art focusing in Photography. As she has lived in Florida for the majority of her life, the surrounding flora and fauna drew her to photography at an early age and seriously began pursuing photography in 2015. Virginia is an active member of Greek Life, holding several leadership positions allowing her to now have the chance to have an internship with her sorority at the National Level. This past year has led her to consider the role of photography in social media sparking interest for future opportunities. Virginia still holds on to the childhood dream of one day contributing to National Geographic and living and exploring the northern parts of the country with her camera in hand.
Artist Statement:
Entering my fourth year of college, I cannot help but feel confident in my decision over four years ago to pursue photography at the university level. Since the very beginning, my photographs have helped serve as reminders, markers for important moments and memories. I'm still interested in wildlife photography and the relationship it has with fine art. Each year, each new photograph is a chance to try something different, to improve, to continue to capture the predictable and unexpected.
